Gaming Laptops: And Now We Have TDE (Turbo Drive Engine) Technology

Gaming Laptops: And Now We Have TDE (Turbo Drive Engine) Technology

The new catch-word in gaming laptops is TDE+ which stands for Turbo Drive Engine plus technology. Actually, many consider this is only a marketing tactic and a savvy way to promote MSI (Micro Star International) new line of GT and GX series of gaming laptops. This TDE+ technology is exclusive to MSI, which claims it increases CPU, memory and graphics frequency; boosting response times and giving you more efficient real-time data processing.

This “Turbo” technology really benefits your video decoding/encoding, and helps with 3D gaming and designing art work. Most of those benefits will be of interest to gamers since any technology which speeds up their games and gives them smoother images will grab their attention. And one feature which will definitely catch their eye is the “Overclocking Hotkey”, also exclusive to MSI notebooks. Just by touching the turbo button which is located above the keyboard, gamers can simultaneously increase your CPU speed and make it run faster.

By maxing out the performance and making your laptop perform to the best of its capabilities could give gamers a powerful advantage, especially when it comes to decreasing your processing time. This could be used on other high-demanding tasks besides gaming, such as video editing, calculating 2D/3D designs and video/audio transcoding.

Basically, if you’re running really heavy graphics-intensive applications, you can also touch the GPU mode hotkey and your system will switch to the discrete GPU mode, giving you full power. To save battery life, when you’re doing routine stuff, the system can switch to integrated graphics and extend the life of your battery. This flexible (switchable graphics) technology is really useful and we are seeing more and more of it featured in laptops, such as the Nvidia Optimus system which automates switching graphics.

MSI is also boasting about their exclusive “ECO Engine Power Management System” which is another way to extend your laptop’s battery life while performing different tasks. It can switch among 5 different operating modes: Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Office and Turbo Battery mode. Of course, having a power management system in place to handle different types of processing is a no-brainer, you have to had it if you want longer battery life.

But perhaps for many gamers, another interesting feature is the exclusive cooler boost technology which takes note/adjusts your system’s core temperatures and fan speed to intelligently cool down your laptop. As gamers will quickly tell you, overheating is often the main problem which arises with very intensive gaming and overclocking. Even the most expensive top-brand gaming laptops can suffer from this problem, mainly because squeezing so many powerful components into such a tight space is just asking for trouble and one of the main reasons many avid gamers say a desktop PC is much better suited for computer gaming.

Whether this TDE+ technology and MSI’s new line of GT and GX gaming laptops can change some minds and improve laptop gaming remains to be seen, but any technology which boosts your system’s processing speed and efficiency is a good starting point, regardless of whether it is automatic or manual. Throw in an intelligent flexible graphics system and adjustable cooling boost system and MSI might just have produced a winning combination.

The various Attributes of Computer Technology

Today

Computer technology is the term for a programmable machine that consists of storage date memory, operational elements for arithmetic and logic and elements for sequencing and control according to stored information. These peripheral devices are stored with information. They also have the capacity to transmit out outcomes of operations. Computer products has processing units which allow the technology to see, manipulate and store data. With computer systems, one can understand the realization of his full potential. It will help one out of realizing his aspirations.

Computer technology has extremely improved from past machine models with programming codes to decipher before one can utilize the computer. Today software is much more handy but with more capabilities when compared with those giant machines in the earlier times. Today, the technology is even incorporated in one’s cellphone, that certain can make use of the functions of software anywhere and anytime.

The advancement in software has benefitted most businesses and organizations in helping them succeed. The introduction of varied programs has helped in man’s achievement of goals from mere nightly homework for school to more spectacular goals including landing on the moon.

Info is made accessible and vast over the simple using software applications technology that runs these computer machines. The most typical software program is those who tend to be used in laptops and laptops. Other kinds of software can be used for businesses plus a number of fields.

The need for computer systems is its revolutionary calculation of formulas in mathematics and physics. What’s more, it made the race to space possible. Today computer systems is used for scientific research and theoretical modeling. Days gone by Fifty years have seen science evolving in the modern age of computing. It began while using abacus, the first mechanical calculator which was invented inside 3000 BC.
Computer systems enables the processing of information to become done faster compared to the calculation in the human brain cell. Despite this fact, computer systems also commits errors, needs mechanical components and experiences the possibilities of deteriorating and trojan attack.

Computer systems has influenced every little thing inside the modern world including telecommunications, traffic signals and even time keeping. Today’s modern lives consist of varied interfaces rich in technology computers. Its multi-faceted benefits include processing of knowledge, advanced communication and scientific discovery.

Gas4Free Water Hybrid Engine Technology

Whatever you call them, the more fundamental question is which one is the best kit to invest in and why? In my evaluation of these kits I used two main criteria: proven results and ongoing support. I’ve spoken to representatives at several of the companies that make these kits and I invite you to do the same. The one question which always in the back of my mind in talking with them is how do they handle things when something doesnt go well? Can you get ahold of them? Are they responsive? Are they genuinely interested in making sure you are satisfied with the product? To get to a happy place in this sphere, you have to start with someone who is a perfectionist about his craft. Second, you have to have a little bit of attitude because that’s often time what drives people to be perfect.

I’m happy to say that Punch HHO excels at all of these characteristics. They offer 4 units, 2 for smaller than 5 liter engines and 2 for larger than 5 liter engines. The lower cost units are PVC based and the higher cost units are stainless steel. I recommend the stainless steel units for durability and aesthetics but go with the PVC if you’re trying to save a buck (which you might be obviously if you’re looking to purchase one of these kits.

Additionally, Punch HHO does something no other vendor does today which I think sets them apart. They recommend that you acquire the Water4Gas ebooks to help with your installation–although their kits are easy to install–they think the ebooks are well done and will help you navigate through any unforeseen issues. The kits do come with their own instructions but again, the Water4Gas books provide good background on how all of this technology works. Secondly, Punch HHO points out clearly that if you have a fuel injected engine, you need an EFIE to get the kit to work. You’re going to find lots of kits and parts folks out there who are selling kits without pointing this out. Essentially, when you put an HHO kit on a fuel injected engine, it changes the oxygen value upstream from the catalytic converter and cause the system to add more gas to compensate. The EFIE corrects this and enables you to achieve the full benefits of the HHO.

We’re always looking for better HHO kits but for now, your money is best spent with Punch HHO. If you have something better or want to offer some testimonials (or complaints) for Punch HHO, then get in touch with me ASAP. If you have any questions about any of this, feel free to email me at the link in the upper right hand corner of this page.

Dell XPS 14 & XPS 15 Photos and Specifications Leak

The Dell XPS line has always done a decent job of offering above average mobile performance for a fair price, however the current generation is growing a bit long in the tooth. Dell fans on the hunt for a new 14” or 15” notebook haven’t had many options, but a set of leaked photos and specifications have emerged for the XPS 14 and XPS 15.

As you no doubt managed to guess the model refresh brings with it a new set of Ivy Bridge options, along with a hybrid 500GB HDD paired with a 32GB SSD, 8GB of Ram, and an Nvidia GT 630M GPU with 1GB of memory.

The display options will range from 1600x900 on the XPS 14, to full 1080p on the 15. Engadget reports that both screens will feature Cornings Gorilla Glass, however the 1080p panel on the XPS 15 looks slightly sharper.

Both models will offer USB 3, along with DisplayPort & HDMI, and are expected to hit the street sometime before the end of June.

Leaked Documents Show Microsoft Considered Buying OnLive

As PC enthusiasts you have every right to be skeptical of OnLive as a service, but let’s just say we are impressed beyond belief that it works at all. Nothing will ever beat the experience you get with a tricked out PC, however anyone who has fired up Crysis on a netbook and actually given the service a fair shake knows they’ve managed the impossible. It would seem Microsoft agrees, and actually considering buying the service before it got too dangerous.

A 56-page document that allegedly leaked by Microsoft has given some insight into what the next generation of console hardware might look like, but also detailed a list of “threats”. The document warned management that OnLive could "up-end the console gaming market by making expensive consoles and PCs unnecessary for AAA gaming." They went on to theorize that partnerships with ISP’s could even allow for subsidized or even free hardware with a subscription. Because of this the author labeled them as a “potential acquisition target”.

Co

nsidering the fact that the documents are now almost two years old, it’s safe to say Microsoft decided against it. It’s always fun however to sit around and wonder how close they came to pulling the trigger, and what if anything they would have done with the service. Maybe Microsoft even considered upgrading the Xbox 360 with the technology, allowing them to offer improved graphics and visuals without a hardware refresh. Crazy I know, but let us know your theories in the comments below.

Microfilm To Digital Data - A Complex Problem With A Simple Solution

Microfilm was the format of choice for the document management industry for several decades prior to the emergence of electronic document management and the CD-ROM in the early 1990s.

It follows, therefore, that there is a huge backlog of microfilm of many different formats in the system, all requiring specialized (and expensive) equipment for viewing and printing back to hard copy. As they stand, they cannot be integrated into an EDM system, even though they may contain mainstream information which is frequently required.

The technology for digitizing microfilm is readily available: the decision to be made is how to employ it to best effect.

A digitizing reader printer incorporating its own printer can be used as a stand-alone device in much the same way as the old microfilm reader printer, but making use of scanning technology rather that the old Xerox process. A picture file is produced which outputs to A4 using the machine's own laser printer, the downside being that originals larger than A4 will be produced at much reduced size. The solution to the scaling problem is to install the reader printer as a network drive, allowing the scanned image to be sent to a network plotter. If the original microfilm incorporated a scale, then an accurate full-size print can be produced: if not, the printer software can be set to print at one of the standard paper sizes, A0 to A4.

This set up serves a requirement for low volume on-demand access, where the microfilms are going to be retained in their original form.

On the other hand, high volume conversion can best be served by specialist machines that will scan roll microfilm, microfiche or 35mm aperture cards automatically and at high speed. The high capital cost of these devices means that they are not cost effective unless large backfile conversions are being contemplated. Alternatively, the use of a specialist scanning company will achieve most of the cost benefits without a large capital investment.

There are specialist organizations which provide a range of scanning services, including all microfilm formats. The scanned images can be converted to hard copy, to exact scale if required, or assembled into a searchable database which can be interfaced with an EDM or workflow system.

What it Takes to Succeed in Business!

Business if tough in today's world! Most small businesses go bankrupt or are closed abruptly in the first five years. Over the course of the next five years many of the remainders also "pack up" shop and lock their doors. Why do so many businesses fail?

The reasons lie in three main spheres. Those spheres of influence can be labeled personal, customer, and operations.

The Personal Sphere deals with the owner's personal motivation to start a business. For example, if an owner wants to start their own business, but isn't willing to make the sacrifices necessary to make it thrive, then they are at a disadvantage when compared to other motivated businesspeople. When a business starts for the first time often it doesn't have a lot of money. Owners are required to sacrifice time, money, and happiness to succeed. If you can't do that, it is unlikely that such a business will flourish. Many times owners thought they could handle the hardship but once the novelty of "being your own boss" wears off they close the door.

The Customer Sphere is one of the most important components of your business. Without customers you do not have sales, without sales you do not have money and without money you do not have a business. Many factors go into generating a good customer base. In the beginning you must have a cost effective marketing strategy that targets your intended buyers. This can be done by developing a psychological profile of your customer and then advertising in those places that they frequent. Because it is more expensive to get a new customer than it is to keep one you must make sure they are satisfied with your business and product. Keep in touch with them by sending them a follow-up letter with a survey.

The Operations Sphere is only second to the Customer Sphere. In operations you must have an appropriate method of reducing costs, keeping track of paperwork, and maintaining improvement. Operations can also take into effect the tax paperwork, accounting, scheduling of workers, benefits or any non-producing functions.

If all of these three components are well thought out and are appropriately designed you will increases your chances of survival. Failure to understand the integral details of your business and what it takes to succeed may mean failure in the long run. If you are having difficulty putting all the pieces together then consider a small business consultant.

The Zune MP3 Player Versus The Leading iPod

It is not a surprise that a lot of people in our society don't even know what a Zune is, and there is one answer. Advertisement, Microsoft has done a horrible job of advertising their product. Even commercials, they tried to make the Zune seem so mysterious, but in reality, it just turned people off. $3Cbr style="font-family: times new roman;">
I can understand wanting to hide such a movie like Hancock, or The Happening, something where giving away the plot or story might ruin the whole movie, but there is absolutely no point in not throwing the Zune right in peoples faces so that they aren't just looking at the iPod.

Thats one reason why the Apple is far ahead of Microsoft's game. This also applies to Windows and MAC, you never see any advertising on Windows, now do you? Next thing you know, the MAC will be the mainly used computer for all of the United States, something I thought never would happen.

But, lets get down to business. The Zune MP3 Player, is actually a very nice mp3 player when comparing it to the iPod. Of course, any arguments that you here are generally from someone with an iPod, doesn't know what the Zune is, or even looks like for that matter. Point in case, people believe what other people say way too easily.

Do your research, and if your reading this article, I've done it for you. The Zune often gets better ratings than the iPod when it comes to being an mp3 player, unforunately due to the marketing ability of Microsoft to show people the Zune, half of the world doesn't know what the thing is.

But thats okay, because you do. Now you can make a solid decision on whether you want an iPod or a Zune MP3 Player. One thing that I must point out is that the Zune has several features the the iPod does not have at all.

The downside to that is, when they decided to release these new features, they were not polished at all, thus resulting in failed features or ones that had little or no effect when put into works. So, that means it looks good on paper, but essentially if something doesn't work, it doesn't work.

On the other hand, iPod doesn't have as many features, but in the features that it does have, they are polished up quite well. You won't find any buggy systems or anything like that with the iPod, and the database, iTunes, where all of the music comes from is just massive.

iTunes is consistently being updated, and made more user-friendly for the computer-illiterate people who don't know how to drag and drop a song from one folder to another. But that's okay, you can't expect much from people nowadays.

There are also a few other points of competition as well. Accessories, that is one huge aspect. If there were absolutely not accessories for one of the two competitors, the Zune or the iPod, the opposing would win. Simply because what good does an iPod do on its own.

You need to be able to plug into your car, plug a charger in at home, on the go, have a dock where you can charge and listen to at the same time, along with your standard company-brand headphones and earphones.

Along with that, an fm transmitter kit, and the list goes on. Basically, all of these accessories make the iPod or Zune reusable and versatile in many situations. Having a travel charger while the other one doesn't, now allows for you to take your Zune anywhere you want, but the iPod will be dead before the day ends.

That would be a huge difference maker had one of the companies not created the travel charger. You see, the mp3 player itself is already out, and now to make it stand out more than the opposing, you have to make accessories, ones that look nice too. You can't have ugly accessories and expect people to buy.

This society is full of people who base things on looks, covers of books, people and how attractive they are, thats the first thing they notice. And with so many things to compare in this world, that seems like a viable and easy way to do it. That is where the iPod comes on top, looks. They have made their mp3 player, and their accessories look a little better.

But that's okay, because for anyone who has gone and done their research knows that the Zune produces better quality sound, and for the price, even though very similar, the Zune is a better deal in the long-run, unless your an Apple fanatic.

Customer Service Training Tips

Good customer service is the best way to keep customers coming back to your business. super stores that have hundreds of employee's, these companies do not give their workers enough incentive to be customer friendly, and they don't seem to insist their employees use the customer training tips that are provided during their training. Businesses always supply new employees with their own customer service training tips in the beginning but they seem to forget them after being employed for awhile. Maybe stores and businesses should make their employees go through a refresher course and re-learn the customer service training tips that were given to them in the beginning. Training your employees in the art of customer service can be the least expensive improvement you can do. Make sure your employees have good people skills and that they enjoy working with people. One nasty person with a bad attitude can ruin a small business faster than a hold-up. Here are some customer service training tips that may help your employees.

Some customers are just plain difficult. They are always complaining, they are picky, know-it-alls, faultfinders, constant complainers, unreasonable, demanding. There's no way you can avoid them so you have to learn to deal with them. Angry people cannot rationalize because they are so wrapped up in the emotion of anger that anything you say gets filtered through their emotion. Rationalizing, problem solving, listening, and negotiating are all left-brain activities and your angry customer is stuck in the right side of the brain, and therefore cannot be expected to rationalize with you. Here are a few more customer service training tips.

Believe it or not the best way to diffuse a situation with an angry customer may be cleared up with two little words. "I'm sorry." Recent research shows that more than 50% of customers who have voices a complaint never get an apology. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that most people just want to be acknowledged, and when they get ignored and treated like they don't matter and their opinion means nothing. One of the better customer service training tips I found is saying "I'm sorry," can make all the difference in the world.

I don't believe in the saying the "customer is always right." No their not always right, and there are those that make themselves feel superior by belittling others. Being courteous to customers does not mean you have to accept abuse from them. Nobody deserves to be treated badly, but unfortunately there are those who go out of their way to do so. Saying things like, "Thank you for letting me know that you're unhappy with…" will usually calm even the meanest customers and the nicer you continue to be with them, the calmer they get, this is a very good customer service training tip. Try it a few times it really works. There's also another saying that goes: "You don't have to show up to every fight you're invited to."

How to Build a Customer Focused Business

You can have the best products, the plushest offices, the best location, but unless you are a 'customer focused' business, all of this counts for nothing, you will never really hit the heights you deserve.

So what can you do to build a business which focuses outwardly on the customer, and not inwardly on the business?

Build Passion and Commitment

The first building block is passion and commitment. This is the very foundation stone of a customer focused business. Without passion and commitment the structure you will build above will be weak and prone to collapse at the first sign of stress.

The passion and commitment has to come from you and your staff. All of you have to totally believe in the concept of the customer being the centre of everything you do. From the moment you step into work everyone has to do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer.

As the key person in the business what can you do to build passion and commitment? Lead from the front and set an example. Keep the concept at the top of the agenda and demonstrate it in everything you do. Keep talking about it. Celebrate all the great examples of putting the customer totally in focus.

Build Processes Around Your Customer Not The Business

All great businesses have clearly laid down processes on how to get things done. Whether you have a formal Process Manual or a Quick Reference Guide, which sets out your processes, a clear procedure provides confidence and clarity for both your staff and the customer.

But don't just build your processes around making things easier for you, build them to make things easier for the customer. Look at every step in the process and ask yourself, "Can we do something to make it even easier for the customer to do business with us?"Are there steps which can be refined or even eliminated all together? Be inquisitive, bold and challenging!

Build a Relationship

Building a relationship with your customer is at the very heart of a customer focused model. Build a strong, firm relationship and you will have a customer for life. The basis of relationship building is A.B.C. – Always Be Communicating. Here are some ideas on building an enduring and profitable relationship through ABC:<
• Make a point to periodically call your customers. Set up a diary system to provide you with a regular reminder or prompt. Call them even if you have nothing sell! A strange concept perhaps but you never know what will come out of the conversation

• Issue quarterly newsletters telling them about your latest products, what you have planned for the future, a customer profile, news about new employees. Find anything which would be of interest and at the same time binding both of you closer together

• Make it a point during any conversation to find out something about the business you didn't know before. File away any interesting fact and think how you can use it in the future. Imagine how powerful it would be when you ask how the idea they mentioned in your last conversation was going!

• Do memorable things. Send birthday or anniversary cards to your key contact, a simple thank you note for doing business with us, send articles or newspaper cuttings, which you think will be of interest to them

Build a Culture of 'Wanting To Know'

If you are to build a reputation for being customer focused you should be making an effort to find out on a regular basis what they want from you. This can be achieved by either an informal phone call or a more formal survey via mail or e-mail. Find out what they like about your business, what they don't like and what changes they would like to see.

Having gathered together all the information, suggestions and ideas, set out an action plan to follow up. Once you have acted upon the workable suggestions, get in touch with the customers again and tell them what you have done in response to their comments. This will demonstrate that you have taken their ideas seriously and really care about what they think. Powerful stuff!

Being customer focused can be very rewarding and help in building a great business. Which of these steps are you going to put into practice today? Remember this – let the customer be your focus and you will become their focus.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Medicare Part D's Prescription Drug Plan

By May 15 of this year, if you haven't signed up for the program, you could end up without drug coverage, or have to pay the penalty for applying after the deadline. The penalty is a 1% increase in your premium for each month after May 2006 in which you don't enroll.

The following is a step-by-step guide designed to get down to the basics of Medicare Part D, cut through the jargon, and tells you exactly what you need to know.

Step #1: Eligibility. Are you eligible for Medicare's new prescription drug plan? Simply put, if you are eligible for Medicare Part A or Part B, you are eligible for Part D.

Step #2: Cost. What will Medicare Part D cost you? For drug expenses in the range of $0-$250, you pay 100% of the cost. When and if your costs fall between $250-$2,250, the plan pays for 75%, and you pay for 25%.

At this point, the infamous coverage gap, often referred to as the "donut hole," comes into play. Essentially, if your total drug costs, which include what you and the plan pay for prescriptions, exceed $2,250 per year, you pay 100% of your drug costs after that point until you reach $3,600 in out-of-pocket expenses (total $5,100 in drug costs). But after you escape from the "donut hole," you only have to pay for 5% of your drug costs.

What you pay also includes the usual insurance costs associated with a drug plan. If you do not qualify for extra help, you will pay: monthly premiums, a yearly deductible, and co-pay or co-insurance for each prescription.

If you qualify for extra help due to a limited income, you will pay: low or no monthly premiums, low or no yearly deductible, low or no co-pay or co-insurance for each prescription, and you don't have to worry about the coverage gap.<
Through Medicare's prescription drug plan, you must choose drug coverage from one of the many private plans made available for the purpose of Medicare Part D. This is usually the point at which people become the most confused. There is a wide range of plans from which to choose, and in the end, the right one for you depends on your unique circumstances. Search for the plan that offers the lowest total costs for the year, including your premiums, deductibles, co-payments or co-insurance for each prescription, and any drug costs you pay during the coverage gap.

To best compare the available plans, visit the http://www.medicare.gov prescription drug plan finder.

Step #3: Drugs Covered. Choosing an insurance plan also requires that you make a selection based on the specific drugs you need. The list of drugs covered is called a formulary. So when determining which plan is best for you, cost is only one consideration - you must also make a choice based on the type of drugs covered. Generic and brand name drugs are included in the formularies, but if a drug you take is not on the list, you will either have to pay for it in full, or switch to a similar drug that is covered by the plan.

Step #4: Joining. Signing up for a plan is, luckily, easier than you may think. You can either sign up through the plan's website or through Medicare.gov. Another option: call the company offering the plan you desire, or call Medicare directly.

3 Proven Methods For Turning Away Customers and Losing Money

Are you your own worst marketing enemy? Hey, I'm sure you wouldn't intentionally turn customers away... but we all make mistakes. In the following article you'll find some tried and true ways to lose sales and kiss your profits goodbye!

1. Distract Them
You know what I'm talking about. You've been to Web pages where there were a TON of clickable links. You start clicking away, get 10 screens open... and yeah, you forget which is the original site and why the heck you were there in the first place!

This one is especially true for Internet marketers. Let me ask you... how many clickable links are on your Web page? Don't send your customers to other places before you've made a sale. Once a prospect heads out for greener pastures, they'll probably never find their way back.

2. Give Them An Unpleasant Surprise
You've probably made a purchase, got set to write the check and discovered extra fees that you weren't counting on paying. No one even mentioned them until you were sitting there with pen in hand. Maybe it was that vacation package you've been dreaming about for a while. You're left with a choice... grin and bear it, or walk off without the vacation.

Nothing leaves a bad taste in a customer's mouth like last minute add ons to the price they pay. Yeah, sometimes they go ahead and go through with the purchase, but next time they'll think twice before they trust you to give them the real scoop on the price... if they ever return.

What is a Proxy Site?

Proxy sites are web pages that provide Internet users with the ability to browse web sites that may be blocked by a content filter of some type. By making use of the proxy site as the portal to the blocked site, it is possible to circumvent the work of whatever filter is in place. At the same time, the proxy site also helps to mask the visit to the site, so that there is less evidence that the content filter was not successful in preventing the visit.

How Does A Proxy Site Work?

Essentially, the proxy site will provide the same ability to browse the Internet as any other browser. What is a little different is that instead of being able to conduct general searches for content, a proxy site allows the user to key in a specific web address and be directed to that specific page in a window that resides on the proxy site. This accomplishes two things. First, the window is coded as part of the proxy site address and not the actual web site the user is visiting. Second, any information cached on in the temporary Internet files will appear to be information related to the proxy site, and not the blocked web site.

Why Use A Proxy Site?

One of the legitimate uses of a proxy site is to get around blocked content that may contain one or two words that the filter has identified as inappropriate for viewing. Many companies make use of filters to limit the ability of employees to spend time looking at web pages that are not related to job functions in some manner. This is usually accomplished with the use of key words that programmed into the filter, which in turn blocks any page or site with those words present. While this does block access to a number of sites that have nothing to do with work, they can also inhibit access to pages and glossaries that are designed to be helpful in many job positions. <

Steps to a Writing an Effective Press Releases

ant to get the most media attention and spotlight for your business? Then the first place to start is with a GREAT press release. Now I can almost see half of you leaving now, dreading the thought of having to write one of these. But wait!! I'm going to show you easy methods to make your press release work for you and get the attention it deserves. Ready? Let's go.

We'll briefly go over the basics because of their importance. Editors want to see things done the RIGHT way. I would bet that a lot of good releases simply get tossed out just because they aren't set up properly. To a busy editor, that all too familiar "10 second glance" says a lot for you and your business; it let's them know if you've done your research enough to warrant that release to be placed in their newspaper or magazine.

Here are your essentials:

"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE" on the top left of the page.

Your contact name, phone number, e-mail address, and website follows.

Headline is next, normally in bold and centered on the page. Summarize what the release is about and capture their attention. Spend almost as much time on your headline as you do writing the release. It's that important.

The press release body starts with the location of the release and the date (Margate, Florida, May 5, 2005.)

Most press releases are between 200-500 words, and no more than a page. The first paragraph has the most important information. Don't save the best for last, it won't get read. In this paragraph answer the questions, who, what, when, where and why?

It is recommended that you write press releases in the 3rd person and use short sentences and paragraphs. Do not go over board, trying to dazzle the editor, it won't work.

Target your release. You will be sending your release to a specific audience so make sure that in your release you keep to what would appeal to that audience. What don't they know that you can add? Nothing works better than getting an "AAH HAA" when an editor is reviewing your release.

Provide statistics. Do some research and find some relevant information that applies. You can easily do this through Google. Once you find your quote, do a Google search or Yahoo quote on that particular topic. However, don't stop on the first Google link and take that for gospel. Research it a bit further. Have it come from a respectable company or magazine.

Creating Ebay Selling Opportunities By Communicating With Your Buyer

Creating Ebay Selling Opportunities By Communicating With Your Buyer
One thing many eBay sellers neglect is to actually communicate with their buyers – not with some automated 'suggestion' system, but with actual person-to-person contact. If you can be friendly and sound nice, then you can make them think you're doing them a favour while you make a few extra sales.

'I Could Throw In…'

When you receive an order for an item that costs a lot for shipping and needs some kind of equipment, this is an ideal opportunity to make a 'friendly' extra sale. For example, if someone has just bought a computer, you could send an email like this:

"I'm just emailing you to ask if you'd like a mouse or a keyboard – since you're buying a computer from me, I can throw in any accessories you want without charging any extra shipping. If you're not interested though, then don't worry about it – it was just a thought."

Note how informal this email has to be. It can't stink of sales, or the whole 'communication' thing will be ruined. Would you rather buy something extra from someone who says "you might as well, since you're paying shipping anyway" or from someone who says something like "our valued customers will also love our GREAT DEALS on mice – check it out!" I know what my answer is.

Know Anyone Else?

Here's a simple thing to try: when you thank your buyer, simply say that if they're pleased with you then you'd really appreciate it if they could spread the word. Many eBay buyers feel like they've got a real bargain, and combining this with good customer service could be enough to make your customer go out and start writing down your eBay store's address on pieces of paper for their friends. If you notice a lot of orders coming from the same town, then you'll know that this technique is working.

Sell Services Online

Sell Services Online

s it possible to take a normal offline service business like a legal practice, private medical practitioner or even a real estate business and make money with it from the Internet?

As someone who's been doing this since 1996, I say the answer is a resounding "YES".

If you are a business owner, or even an affiliate marketer, you know how hard it is to make a living online.

Many so-called Internet Marketing gurus will tell you that the only way to make money online is to create your own information products, hype them up with a completely fictitious sales letter and then sell via Clickbank, allowing an army of keen and eager affiliates to do your marketing for you.

Whilst that can and does work, there are other paths that are equally successful.

I know from experience, having made my living online by using my own web sites to promote other people's businesses.

The business I chose were all service oriented. The reason for this is that a service business typically has a low overhead in order to provide the service.

I found that they were more willing to provide me with a larger share of the fees I was able to generate.

The key is to use sales language and "speak" to the businesses clients in language that they understand and respond to.

For example, there's no point using a 5 page sales letter when you're trying to sell the services of a conservative legal practice – it just won't work.
